This saddle was purchased new just before we moved to Montana, but has never been on a horse (I haven't been able to ride since moving here).
Before I took the saddle home, I had the stirrups "twisted". The Levin buckles are removed, the leathers are twisted, and the buckles are re-attached. This gives adjustability but the stirrups hang in their proper position, saving lots of pained knees.
If close inspection shows any white flecks, this is because the saddle was turned upside down and treated with baby powder (a way to quiet the squeaks of a new saddle). This saddle has always been in a heated tack room.
