*Floyd is a cremello son of Cotton Eyed Joe and out of a daughter of Rex's Golden Touch.
As a cremello, he is a double dilute, meaning that he carries two cream genes. He will pass on one of these to each breeding which will dilute the color that the mare adds to the equation. A bay will dilute to buckskin, a sorrel to palomino, a black to smoky black -- etc.
Floyd's first babies were on the ground late summer/early fall of 2006. He was bred to four bay mares. He had a smoky black, two palominos and a buckskin from those mares. In 2007 he had sired a buckskin filly, and a smoky black colt from bay mares. (Due to moving plans, we didn't do a lot of breeding)
*My husband named him Floyd because he's pink.... .....and we know of no other horse named Floyd
His current stud fees are: $300.00 for Registered Fox Trotter Mares $250.00 for other types of mares Mare care is $5.00 per day, wet or dry. Monthly boarding rates available. |
